Kanchanaburi, near Myanmar border, is home to the famous River Kwai Bridge . During WW II, Japan constructed meter-gauge railway line from Ban Pong, Thailand to Thanbyuzayat, Burma. The line passing through the scenic Three Pagodas Pass runs for 250 miles.
Wat Tham Suea in Kanchanaburi is a temple built in 1971, when a monk named Pasarigo used perched caves for meditation. Wat Tham Suea (Temple of the Tiger Cave) has become a tourist attraction. The caves are now closed to the public.
